Posted by Swamp Landers ATV Sales and Service at 07:23 AM on July 16, 2009 Comments comments (0)

To all who enjoy riding at the Knob in Akin,

Most everyone on here has ridin at the Knob or knows someone that has. I,m not in anyway responsible for that property nor do I want to be. I do think it is ashame that who ever the fine people that do own the proporty let us ride there for free and we cant keep it cleaned up.So with that in mind I'll get to the point of this blog.

As some that enjoys riding almost evey weekend with family and friends it is getting harder and harder to fine go places to ride. I would like to ask for help is cleaning the Knob up. You know just pick up the cans ,bottles and other trash that has been left out there. I and many otheres pack thier trash off when we ride, others take advantage of just throwing it on the ground. It is pretty easy to put your empty can back in your cooler or bag and carry it back out. Please ask you friends to take care of the Knob so we can continue to ride there.

On Saturday August 8th at 10:00am I would like others to join me and my family and friends for a day of clean-up and riding at the Knob. I will invest my time and a little money in providing some food for a great day of fun for the whole family to come out and help clean up the trash that has been left out there. If enough come out and help it wont tkae long at all. So let me know what you think. I'm am aware its not my resonsiblity but I do ride there and want to contine the fun we have. Invite your friends and family to come out,Lets clean up the Knob and show the owners we do care about our riding place. Contact me by Phone-618-731-1749 or email me at cartracer24@hotmail.com let me know if you will help.

Thanks to all and I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

Concerns People Have on ATV Riding in Nature Areas

ATV enthusiasts love to ride their ATVs in the outdoors. However, some people have problems with this. While there are arguments that ATV riders have the right to use their vehicles in the outdoor world there are some concerns on ATV riding in nature areas that some people do have today. These include not only potential damages to nature but also harm to other people.

window.google_render_ad();

The main part of the concerns about ATVs that nature lovers have is that there can be some negative effects on the environment caused by these vehicles. ATVs can be smoky and noisy but those effects are minimal compared to some other concerns. For instance, damages to vegetation on waterways or other places nearby is a problem. Plants in these areas are used to hold riverbanks together. When plants are killed by people who ride over them the soil there can easily be damaged. This can cause the river's flow to change and flooding in certain areas. Water erosion is also a problem here. This will hurt the ecosystem as a whole.

State laws in most places do allow ATVs to cross rivers and other bodies of water. Riding up and down waterways is the main problem though. When a good amount of sediment is affected and moved around the waters can be damaged.

There are also concerns about ATVs involving where people go on their vehicles. There can be instances when a person will end up riding in an area where hunting is permitted. It is best for a rider to check on what animals are in season and what areas are going to be used for hunting before riding for one's own safety.

ATVs can also impact normal patterns of animals that people are hunting as well. This can impact a hunter's day very easily. This will also be the case for bird watchers and other who are looking for nature in the wild. It is better to take a look at what animals are in certain areas so that the person will not be able to impact anyone's enjoyment of the outdoors.

Many places will have ATV designated areas as well. It helps to check with a local government office to get details on what areas can be used for ATV riding so that no one is disrupted.

ATV riding in nature areas can be enjoyable but there are all sorts of concerns. These include the environmental impact of the vehicles, the impact they have on people who are traveling and risks that are involved during hunting seasons. By using all of these concerns about ATVs a rider will be able to get a better idea of how to properly ride in the great outdoors.

My Brother had this Posted and I felt Like everyone should read this and pass it on....

Love him or loathe him, he nailed this one right on the head.......... By Rush Limbaugh:

Love him or loathe him, he nailed this one right on the head.......... By Rush Limbaugh: I think the vast differences in compensation between victims of the September 11 casualty and those who die serving our country in Uniform are profound. No one is really talking about it either, because you just don't criticize anything having to do with September 11. Well, I can't let the numbers pass by because it says something really disturbing about the entitlement mentality of this country. If you lost a family member in the September 11 attack, you're going to get an average of $1,185,000. The range is a minimum guarantee of $250,000, all the way up to $4.7 million. If yo u are a surviving family member of an American soldier killed in action, the first check you get is a $6,000 direct death benefit, half of which is taxable. Next, you get $1,750 for burial costs. If you are the surviving spouse, you get $833 a month until you remarry. And there's a payment of $211 per month for each child under 18. When the child hits 18, those payments come to a screeching halt. Keep in mind that some of the people who are getting an average of $1.185 million up to $4.7 milli on are complaining that it's not enough Their deaths were tragic, but for most, they were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. Soldiers put themselves in harms way FOR ALL OF US, and they and their families know the dangers. We also learned over the weekend that some of the victims from the Oklahoma City bombing have started an organization asking for the same deal that the September 11 families are getting. In addition to that, some of the families of those bombed in the embassies are now asking for compensation a s well. You see where this is going, don't you? Folks, this is part and parcel of over 50 years of entitlement politics in this country. It's just really sad. Every time a pay raise comes up for the military, they usually receive next to nothing of a raise. Now the green machine is in com bat in the Middle East while their families have to survive on food stamps and live in low-rent housing Make sense? However, our own US Congress voted themselves a raise. Many of you don't know that they only have to be in Congress one time to receive a pension that is more than $15,000 per month. And most are now equal to being millionaires plus. They do not receive Soc ial Security on retirement because they didn't have to pay into the system. If some of the military people stay in for 20 years and get out as an E-7, they may receive a pension of $1,000 per month, and the very people who placed them in harm's way receives a pension of $15,000 per month. I would like to see our elected officials pick up a weapon and join ranks before they start cutting out benefits and lowering pay for our sons and daughters who are now fighting . " When do we finally do something about this?" If this doesn't seem fair to you, it is time to forward this to as many people as you can.

Who are these people, what do they stand for? These people are worried about what we do to the detainee's we have in U.S. custody. Do they not here the news every single day about the Iraqy people killing each other by blowing themselves up. These inhuman people dont want nor need human rights. If their so call religious belief is to blow yourself up and go somewhere nice, they arent very smart to begin with. The zoo's in our great nation have monkeys trained that have more common sence. So to all you so called human rights people, the next time you read a newspaper or turn on a tv listen how the Iraqy people are killing one another. Maybe they(human rights people) need to go after the sunni insurgents or shite milita and tell them about thier human rights. And that people is My Point of View

Suspected Sunni extremists killed 15 Shiite government workers in an attack on their minibus in Baghdad, the government said. Gunmen halted the vehicle and executed several passengers, who were on their way to work at the Shiite Endowment, a government ministry that acts as caretaker for Shiite mosques.

Fifteen other people were killed near a gasoline station when two car bombs exploded in the capital, police said. And at least 15 died in shootings, bombings and a mortar attack in and around Baghdad. Four bodies were pulled from the Tigris River south of the capital.

Police discovered the tortured bodies of 60 people who had been bound, blindfolded, then shot and left in Baghdad over the past 24 hours, Lt. Mohammed Khayoun said.

An American soldier was killed Monday when attackers fired on a U.S. patrol in northeastern Baghdad, the U.S. command said. Also Monday, a soldier died of wounds suffered in a blast in Diyala province and another soldier died in a traffic accident.

The deaths raised to at least 2,905 the number of members of the U.S. military who have died since the Iraq war started in March 2003, according to an Associated Press count.

This is the day to day life of freedom the Iraqy people have chose to live. They are clueless what freedom is about. Killing your neighbor because of WHAT...

Come on America we need to get control of this savage nation. They dont respect each other let alone freedom...

This would be a day that the Iraqy people would never forget.. Each able working Man would start to work doing something such as rebuilding thier own war torn country. If they dont want to work to bad.If they have enough time to kill each other then can and will work or face the ultimate price. Enough is enough with our patience and killing our troops. If we find your part of the killing machine that is raving thru that counrty your not jailed you done. We give the Iraqy people freedom they dont want nor care anything about.

HEALTH QUESTION & ANSWER SESSION
(Who the heck is this doctor--he's my kinda guy!)

Q: I've heard that cardiovascular exercise can prolong life; is this true?
A: Your heart is only good for so many beats, and that's it... don't waste them on exercise. Everything wears out eventually. Speeding up your heart will not make you live longer; that's like saying you can extend the life of your car by driving it faster. Want to live longer? Take a nap.

Q: Should I cut down on meat and eat more fruits and vegetables?
A: You must grasp logistical efficiencies. What does a cow eat? Hay and corn. And what are these? Vegetables. So a steak is nothing more than an efficient mechanism of delivering vegetables to your system. Need grain? Eat chicken. Beef is also a good source of field grass (green leafy vegetable). And a pork chop can give you 100% of your recommended daily allowance of vegetable products.

Q: Should I reduce my alcohol intake?
A: No, not at all. Wine i s made from fruit. Brandy is distilled wine, that means they take the water out of the fruity bit so you get even more of the goodness that way. Beer is also made out of grain. Bottoms up!

Q: How can I calculate my body/fat ratio?
A: Well, if you have a body and you have fat, your ratio is one to one. If you have two bodies, your ratio is two to one, etc.

Q: What are some of the advantages of participating in a regular exercise program?
A: Can't think of a single one, sorry. My philosophy is: No Pain...Good!

Q: Aren't fried foods bad for you?
A: YOU'RE NOT LISTENING!!! ... Foods are fried these days in vegetable oil. In fact, they're permeated in it. How could getting more vegetables be bad for you?

Q: Is chocolate bad for me?
A: Are you crazy? HELLO . Cocoa beans! Another vegetable!!! It's the best feel-good food around!

Q: Is swimming good for your figure?
A: If swimming is good for your figure, explain whales to me.
Well, I hope this has cleared up any misconceptions you may have had about food and diets.

And remember:
"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming : Woo Hoo, what a ride!
life is so short for drama and petty problems,
so kiss slowly, laugh insanely, love truly and forgive quickly.
life is too short to be anything but happy...
